COoL - Creative Organisations of Liverpool

COoL is a collective comprising around 35 arts organisations based in Liverpool.
The collective was initiated by Hope Street Limited in 2007 to strengthen the small/medium scale organisations in the lead up to, and following Liverpool’s successful bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2008.
It was originally known as Small and Medium Arts Collective (SMAC).

In 2009, COoL was awarded funding from Arts Council England with which to develop the collective, build its capacity and plan for the future.

Most of our members are regularly funded by either Arts Council England or Liverpool City Council to create benefits for the general public and for specific target audiences.

The collective all believe strongly in: the arts, innovation, participation, delivering quality work and services and in the importance of partnership, dialogue and communication in driving forward effective cultural strategies and practises.

The COoL collective aims to be an empowered collective which has the strength, recognition and ability to secure tenders, consortium bids and actively keeps up to date with developments and opportunities within the city.
