hope street develops artists, artforms and arts in the community. It provides professional development for emerging artists and theatre companies and produces cutting edge, cross artform, performances that encourage established artists to work outside their comfort zone in unusual places and spaces. Its community engagement programmes provide opportunities for vulnerable individuals and isolated communities. It aims to combat social exclusion and raise the standard and expectation of community arts. Many former hope street apprentices have established award-winning companies, including Tmesis Theatre, Spike Theatre, Big Wow, Random Acts of Wildness, Suitcase Ensemble and Ullaloom. "A national pioneer keenly aware of the value of the vast resources on its doorstep." Total Theatre magazine. hope street is a member of COoL. |
